Welcome to Racqueteers. . .
The Racqueteers Tennis Club is a group of ladies who love playing tennis, enjoy each others company and have many interests in common. The club has sixty active tennis players and about twenty associate members. The associate members enjoy coming to social functions but no longer participate in the regular tennis play days. The tennis play days are organized for players on Mondays and Saturdays and more competitive tennis on Thursdays.
The Racqueteers have two tennis tournaments a year; a Fall Tournament just for the members and a Spring Tournament when the subs are invited to play along with the members. Each tournament is followed by social time and lunch. In December, the Racqueteers gather for the Annual Holiday Luncheon and general meeting. Besides renewing friendships and enjoying the company of fellow Racqueteers, the President and Board of Directors is voted on and approved for the upcoming year.
To become a Racqueteer, a players needs to submit the application form with the reference of two Racqueteers. She then becomes a substitute player. She will receive points for the games she plays and at the end of the year, the players with the most points will be asked to join the Racqueteers. They will be recognized at the Holiday Luncheon as the new members of the Racqueteers Tennis Club.

How we got started . . .
In the summer of 1976, a dozen Canada College coeds who didn't want to quit playing tennis just because school was out, agreed to meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the college's nine courts and play round robin tennis. Their only rule, "If you can't come, send a sub." That group of 12 grew to 60 active members who are known as the Racqueteers. Some of the original Racqueteers are still active members!
Our organization is a wonderful example of a unique association of community tennis players. It shows what a lasting bond the great game of tennis can form . . . for Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Forever!
